By the end of this year 2020, LIFASA will have supplied 170 Active Filters and 123 Capacitor Banks for the new KAIA Airport in Saudi Arabia. Improving the system with a capacity to reduce harmonics in a range of 24,000A and compensating more than 27Mvar of reactive energy. The project has not yet finished and for the following year there is a forecast to expand capacity by 45% with the LIFASA equipment. It is expected to achieve a 4.2M€ scope in total. Thank you to all partners and suppliers for this success.

Located north of the Jeddah city in Saudi Arabia, it is considered the most important airport by number of passengers in Saudi Arabia and is the third largest air facility in the country, as it is the gateway for Muslim pilgrims in its path to the Makkah.
The new Airport (KAIA), developed in three phases, started in 2006 and officially opened in mid-2019. The project is designed to increase the airport’s annual capacity from 13 million to 80 million passengers.
The 136-meter high air traffic control (ATC) tower (the largest in the world) and with an area of ​​810,000 square meters, the new terminal is considered one of the largest airport terminal buildings of its kind in the world.

LIFASA, International Capacitors S.A., will participate in the Corporate games Terrassa 2019 sports games on September 13, 14 and 15. It will be hold in the different facilities selected for each sport modality in the city of Terrassa (Barcelona).

The aim of these games is enhancing the corporate values of the company and corporate social responsibility. Adding sport as a corporate value of the company contributes positively to the improvement of the work environment.

Nearly 1,800 people, belonging to more than 100 companies and corporations, will participate in the different sports modalities such as Running, Swimming, Basketball, Soccer 7, Indoor soccer, Table tennis, Tennis, Paddle tennis, Badminton, BTT, Hockey 7, Chess and Cycling, competing with each other to get as many trophies as possible and most importantly: enjoy team sport!

LIFASA, International Capacitors S.A., once again, for more than 34 years, has been present in the MATELEC 2018 fair that has taken place in the IFEMA fairground in Madrid from 13th to 16th November.

MATELEC 2018 is the reference fair for the electrical, electronic and telecommunications industry. Under the umbrella of “ePower&Building”, it boosts its ability to attract visitors and becomes the most important event in southern Europe for the materials industry, techniques and construction systems for the building industry.

CONCLUSION

During the 4 days that the fair lasted, we were able to observe and realize that there was a greater influx of people compared to other years. This is due to a very successful change in the days chosen, being the best choice the second week of November instead of the last week of October, as it coincided with All Saints’ Day.

We had, once again, the opportunity to converse and meet different potential customers with several possible solutions for the compensation of Reactive Energy in their different facilities. As each case is different, we offered a personalized treatment according to each situation, in order to understand and offer the best solution in each situation.

With respect to the competition, we were pleased to be able to maintain open dialogues on the technologies and products that we commercialize each company, to know in what we stand out and in what we can improve. It is important to know and value the different companies in your sector, as healthy competition is synonymous with business growth.
